A native and life-resident of Lebanon, Betty J. Strychalski was born on July 16, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Everett and Mildred Vinetta (Kelley) Breedlove.
She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1941.
On September 27, 1941, she was married to Stanley Ambrose “Stryke” Strychalski. He passed away on March 4, 1998.
Betty was a homemaker and stayed busy raising five children. She was a dedicated member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church and then of Grace Baptist Church, both of Lebanon. She was an active volunteer in church and found time to help with the cleaning of the Walnut Street Baptist Church as long as she was active there.
As a devoted, wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition, she liked reading, particularly her Bible. She had started her thirty-fourth time reading the Bible. Fond of being in the out-of-doors, Betty liked to work in her yard and often enjoyed taking walks.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon. Funeral Services are to be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Officiating: Dr. Grant Hodges and Pastor Jason Grubbs Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
Survivors: Two Sons: Mr. Charles S. “Chuck” Strychalski and wife, Debbie – Lebanon, Indiana Mr. Paul D. Strychalski and wife, Mary Ann – Pittsboro, Indiana Three Daughters: Mrs. Janet L. Meece and husband, Stanley – Lebanon, Indiana Nine grandchildren: Jennifer Meece Jill (Strychalski) Tynan and husband, Nick Jodi (Strychalski) Jackson and husband, Chad One Brother: Mr. Jack Breedlove and wife, Judi – Lebanon, Indiana Six Great Grandchildren: Micailah, Madelyn, Kenyon, and Mallory Meece, Ian Tynan, and Addington Strychalski A number of nieces and nephews survive including Jacquelyn Rash, Jane Ann Kaiser, and Julie K. McElwee.
Deceased: In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Breedlove and Charles Breedlove.
