Charles E. "Chuck" Isfalt

Charles E. “Chuck” Isfalt, 92, of Lebanon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2015. He was born in Tippecanoe County, near Lafayette, Indiana on May 6, 1922, a son of the late Charles Reuben and Emma Linda (Dain) Isfalt. At the age of four, he and his family moved from Tippecanoe County to Boone County. Mr. Isfalt graduated from Thorntown High School in 1940. On October 4, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and served his country honorably until his discharge on February 16, 1946. Following the service, he began farming in the Thorntown community, retiring in 1984. He helped his son farm during his retirement. On October 5, 1948, he was married to Julia Margaret (Wright) Isfalt in Independence, Kansas. She passed away on September 5, 2000. He then was married to Emalou (Waggener) Reynolds Isfalt on August 1, 2001 in Thorntown; she survives. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking until he suffered a broken back and was unable to do what he loved. Chuck was a faithful member of Thorntown United Methodist Church and the American Legion of Thorntown. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation is planned for Sunday, March 1, 2015, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with military rites will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana. Isfalt and wife, Rebecca – West Lafayette, Indiana Three Step Children: Terry Reynolds and wife, Julie – New Palestine, Indiana Patsy Burgin and husband, Ed – Lebanon, Indiana Randy Reynolds and wife, Vickie – Colorado Springs, Colorado Four Grandsons: Daniel Charles Isfalt and wife, Jolene Kyle Joseph Isfalt Andrew Earl Isfalt and wife, Shannon Jonathan David Isfalt and wife, Melissa Six Step Grandchildren: Sarah Reynolds Amy Reynolds Bret Burgin and wife, Lisa Craig Burgin and wife, Leisa Nikki Barclay and husband, Steve Pattie Wylie and husband, Matt Several Great Grandchildren Sister: Mary Edna Bush – Indianapolis, Indiana Many Nieces and Nephews Deceased: In addition to his parents and his first wife, Charles was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion Isfalt, Victor Isfalt, and Earl Isfalt, and a sister, Ruby Isfalt.
