Christina Mae Bush

Mrs. Christina Mae Bush, 93, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, peacefully in her sleep. She was born June 9, 1930, in Frankfort, Indiana, the daughter of the late Carl Leonard and Evelyn Louise (Schimmel) Thrine. On November 27, 1949, she was united in marriage to James E. Bush. They enjoyed 74 wonderful years together. Christina was raised in Clinton and Boone Counties and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1949. During her early work years, she was the assistant for the Lebanon High School Superintendent. After she began raising her children and devoted her time to what was most important, her family and home. In addition, throughout the years, she helped Jim with the farming operation they started in 1952, later moving to Harrison Township in 1959. Christina continued to run equipment until their son, Ron, started farming. She was a member of The First Baptist Church for over 50 years and later attended the Centenary United Methodist Church. Christina loved her family dearly and loved every moment spent together. She enjoyed gardening along with canning and freezing the produce for the winter. Christina participated in many organizations such, Tri Kappa where she held a membership since high school, the Red Hat Society, and as a 4-H Leader in Harrison Township. In addition, she enjoyed playing Bridge with couples at their home and with several ladies while rotating homes, she even drafted Jim to fill two tables at Ulen Country Club. Survivors include her beloved husband, James E. Bush; children, Susan C. Alexander and Richard A. Bush; grandchildren, Dennis (Megan) Alexander, Jaime Cardinal, Joseph (Nikki) Alexander, Carrie Alexander, Adelaide (Algirdas) Navickas, and Clarissa Bush; great grandchildren, Garrett Alexander, Courtney (Tyler) Wampler, Aubrey Goodlett, Bella Roberti, Piper Cardinal, Evie Alexander, and Domantas Navickas; one great-great grandchild, Maddox Alexander; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Christina was preceded in death by a son, James Ronald “Ron” Bush, and brother, Bobby Joe Thrine. She joins them in heaven. Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
