Parks was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on September 7, 1938, a son to the late Albert Seth Parks, Jr. and T. Hortense (Routh) Parks. Raised in Boone County, Indiana, Dan graduated from Whitestown High School in 1956 and later attended Purdue University. On February 14, 1960, he was married to Colleen R. (Powner) Parks in Indianapolis. After 54 loving years together, Mrs. Parks survives. Dan was a grain and livestock farmer, raising Polled Herefords. He was a devoted and compassionate man who deeply loved and cared for his family. He enjoyed his daughter’s and his grandchildren’s activities as they grew. He took great pride of his John Deere Collection, both large and small.Memberships: Zionsville Christian Church Past President and active member of Boone County Antique Tractor Club Feeders & Breeders Association where he received the Distinguished Agricultural Award. Runn Cemetery Board Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Lebanon, with Masonic Rites beginning at 7:30 p.m.Interment will follow services at Mts.
