Age: 82 WidowedCity of Residence: Whitestown, IndianaDate of Death: Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 2:35 p.m.Place of Death: At Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana A native of Roxana, Illinois, Delores Frolene “Dee” Kouns was born on August 20, 1930, a daughter of the late Frank Lee and Eva Christine (Murphy) Miller.Dee lived in Illinois through the 4th grade when her family moved to Indiana. She attended schools in Lebanon through the 8th grade and then moved to Zionsville where she graduated in 1949, from Zionsville High School.On November 23, 1950, in Zionsville, she was married to Robert Leon Kouns. Mr. Kouns passed away on December 12, 1973.Dee loved to cook. In 1974, she began working as a substitute in the school cafeterias. For nearly thirty years, she worked full-time in Sheridan at Marion Elementary and at Adams Elementary. During the summertime, she continued her love of cooking as head of concessions for her son-in-law, Larry, in the Pro Shop at Riverside Golf Course in Indianapolis.Well-known and highly regarded in the community, Dee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed her family, cooking, watching sports. She was also a member of Christian Liberty Church. Visitation is planned for Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon, Indiana.Officiating: Pastor Dan Ferren and Rev.
