Earl was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on May 10, 1935, to the late Kenneth Franklin Smith and Mary Elizabeth (Bumbleburg) Heick – Smith.Mr. Heick attended schools in Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from LafayetteJefferson High School in 1953. He enlisted in the United States Marines and served his country honorably.On June 14, 1958, in Lafayette, he was married to Nancy Carrol (Steill) Heick. Mrs. Heick passed away on April 29, 2012. Following his service in the military, Mr. Heick worked for Sherwin Williams inLafayette. Beginning in 1959, he worked at the Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance office inLebanon, retiring after thirty-seven years.A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Earl loved his children and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed attending their events. His hobbies included cooking, bowling, camping, hunting, fishing, making his own fishing lures and repairing fishing poles.Mr. Heick was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon, Indiana where, for several years, he served as an usher and attendant for the church Bingo. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Lebanon Elks Lodge.Officiating: Rev.
