Helen Irene Ruse

Helen Irene Ruse, 90, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on July 14, 1926, in Boone County Indiana a daughter of the late Roy H. and Wanda Ann (Wynkoop) Johnson. Helen graduated from Pinnell High School in 1944. She was married to Ronald C. Ruse on July 12, 1946 in Whitestown, Indiana; Mr. Ruse passed away on March 1, 2004. Helen’s greatest joy was being a devoted mother and homemaker. She had also spent time working for the Perry Township Election Board. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved giving hugs. In her spare time Helen liked reading, walking, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and her weekly lunch at Pizza Hut. Survivors include: Children: Karen Strueh and husband, James Riester – Bloomfield, Indiana Linda Peetz and husband, Charles – Lebanon, Indiana Ronda Strasser and husband, Paul – South Chicago Heights, Illinois Susan Barrett and husband, John – Lebanon, Indiana Mary Ann Haase and husband, Donald – Park City, Utah Rev. Ronald Ruse and wife, Brenda – Truro, Nova Scotia Carol Johnson and husband, Ronald – Lebanon, Indiana Dr. Michael Ruse and wife, Lisa – Conway, South Carolina Kelly Mader and husband, William – Indianapolis, Indiana Sister-In-Law: Karen Johnson – Saline, Michigan Thirteen Grandchildren Fifteen Great Grandchildren Three Great Great Grandchildren Deceased: In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Johnson, Wendell Johnson, Howard Johnson and David Johnson; sisters, Loris Cunningham, Edith Esther Jarrett, Mary Margaret Johnson, Wilma Burns and Violet Randolph; brothers-in-law, Ed Burns, John Cunningham, James Jarrett, Don Randolph and Marion Johnson; sisters-in-law, Ellen Johnson, Phyllis Johnson and Marge Johnson. Visitation is to be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 7300 South State Road 267, Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m., at the church in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Fayette, Indiana.
