Nesbitt was born in Boone County, Indiana, on April 11, 1937. She was a daughter of the late Keith Herbert and Doris Opal (Etchison) Williams. A lifelong resident of Boone County, Irene had lived in most all areas of the county growing up. She was a 1955 graduate of Lebanon High School. On April 4, 1959, she was married to John William Nesbitt in Lebanon, Indiana. They had spent 55 loving years together. Mr. Nesbitt recently passed away on April 26, 2014. Irene was a devoted housewife. She was quite handy with needlepoint and crocheting. Beginning in 1978, she was a judge for both the Boone County 4-H Fair and the Indiana State Fair in the area of needlecrafts. As a competitor in this area, she won many ribbons. Irene was also very involved with the Boone County Historical Society and was known as the family’s historian. Memberships: New Brunswick Church of Christ Sullivan Museum Guild Hoosier Heritage Quilt Guild Rainbow for Girls Formerly in the Daughters of the American Revolution Funeral Services will be held at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, on Tuesday, July 8 2014, at 1:00 p.m., with Chaplain Sharon Bierman officiating.Visitation is planned from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County, Indiana.
