He attended Logan High School in Logan, West Virginia. In 1964, Ron moved to Whitestown, Indiana, and then he moved to Frankfort, Indiana in 1973 and in 1983, he moved to Indianapolis where he had resided since. On January 19, 1974, he was married to Darlena M. (Mullinax) Dean in Frankfort, Indiana. Mrs. Dean survives. Mr. Dean worked for Sun Chemical from 1974 to 1982. He retired from the maintenance department of East Community Hospital in Indianapolis after 23 years. From 2003 to 2012, Ron owned D & R Medical. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Ron enjoyed his family, fishing, playing cards, shooting, and NASCAR events.Funeral Services are planned for Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana with Pastor Tony Oliver, officiating.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon.Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana.Survivors: Wife: Mrs. Darlena M.
