James Earl Saulmon Sr.

James Earl “Jim” Saulmon, Sr., 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, August 26, 2015 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Boone County, Indiana on February 11, 1938, the son of the late John Saulmon, Sr. and Clara (Varvel) Saulmon Servies. Jim was first married to Ruth Ann (Burgin) Saulmon on February 7, 1964 in Lebanon. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2002. He was then married to Janet K. (Campbell) Bloomfield Saulmon on July 25, 2005 in Indianapolis; she survives. A longtime resident of Lebanon, Jim attended Lebanon High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1955 and served his country honorably until 1958. Jim had worked for many years at the Lebanon Utilities, first as a lineman and later as a dispatcher. Following his retirement, he spent a year in Florida and in 2004 moved to Indianapolis where he had since resided. He was a former member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Lebanon, the Elks Club in Lebanon and the Moose Lodge in Indianapolis. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed playing poker, golfing in the summer months and bowling during the winter. Visitation will be held at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 30 2015. Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015 at the funeral home in Lebanon, with Pastor Jason Grubbs, officiating. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Survivors: Wife: Janet K. Saulmon – Indianapolis, Indiana Two Children: David W. Memorials may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
