John N. Couch

Mr. John Nathan Couch, 87, of Lebanon and formerly of Thorntown, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. John was born in Mayview, Missouri, on November 22, 1927, a son of the late George William and Elsie Mae (Willard) Couch. On April 18, 1969, he was married to Florence Loraine “Flo” (VanDeVanter) Couch in Indianapolis. She passed away on April 6, 2009. A resident of Missouri until 1950, John moved to Indiana where he lived in Irvington, Cloverdale and Brownsburg before settling in Thorntown in 1985. John was a truck driver for a short period of time, he spent 45 years as a printing pressman, retiring in 1992 from Morris Printing Company in Indianapolis. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. John enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. Memberships: Thorntown Christian Church Thorntown American Legion Lebanon Senior Citizens Euchre Club Visitation is planned for Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services with military rites are to be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home in Lebanon. Entombment will follow services at the Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana. Brading and wife, Carrie Kathryn Strickland and husband, James Beth Hibschman and husband, Nathan Amy Couch Several Great Grandchildren Brothers: Daniel C. Couch and wife, Jane – Gravois Mills, Missouri Henry Lee Couch – Oak Grove, Missouri Sisters: Ruby Pauline Elliott – Independence, Missouri Margie Frances Hook and husband, Jerry – Oak Grove, Missouri Georgia Mae Robinette – Oak Grove, Missouri Sister-in-law: Jeanette Couch – Oak Grove, Missouri Several Nieces and Nephews In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Franklin Couch and Albert Gene Couch; a brother-in-law, Owen Robinette; son-in-law, William Brading; a step daughter Carolyn Gibson; and a grandson, Billy Mooney. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
