Peabody was born in Boone County, Indiana, on May 14, 1928, the son of the late Charles Glenn and Mildred R. (Ek) Peabody. Reared and educated in Boone County, he was a graduate of Pinnell High School.In March 1949, in Boone County, Indiana, he was married to Rovene (Coons) Peabody, they divorced. He then was married to Beulah “Bee” Laurena (Miles) Walker Peabody, on April 21, 1979, in Goshen, Indiana, she survives.For several years, John farmed his family farm before becoming a partner in Jakes Tire Service in Lebanon. He then went to work at the Boone County State Bank where he was a longtime employee and retired from there in 1996. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather he loved his family dearly. In the early 1990’s, he and his wife began wintering in Florida.
