Lavaune Glen Arndt

Mr. Lavaune Glen Arndt, 91, formerly of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Saturday morning, October 27, 2018, at his home in Indianapolis. He was born January 6, 1927 in Clinton County, Indiana, a son of the late Samuel H. and Hazel Grace ((McKenzie) Arndt. On September July 17, 1954, he was married to Verna E. (Bacon) Clements; she preceded him in death. He later married Lydia Ann (Zychalski) Murray-Arndt; she survives. Lavaune was a 1945 graduate of Frankfort High School. He served his county honorably in the U.S. Army as a medical technician with the 58th Signal Battalion in Kyoto, Japan. Following service, Lavaune worked as a machine operator for Allison Gas Turbine Division in Indianapolis for over thirty-six years. He had an avid interest in motorcycle sport riding, both for pleasure and as a spectator. In addition, he enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. Lavaune was a member of Lebanon Wesleyan Church in Lebanon and a member of Local #933 of the United Auto Workers of America for thirty-six years. He was hard-working and dedicated to his family. He loved his wives, step children, and step grandchildren dearly. Survivors include: Wife: Lydia Arndt – Indianapolis, Indiana Step Children: Bonnie Lee (Larry) Perdue-Lebanon, Indiana Mary Bell Huffer—Florida Michael Murray-Indianapolis, Indiana Charles (Shannon) Murray-Fishers, Indiana Jeremy Murray-Indianapolis, Indiana Eleven Step Grandchildren Twelve Step Great Grandchildren Stepson-in-law: Jack Perry-Sedalia, Indiana Several Nieces and Nephews In addition to his parents and first wife, Lavaune was preceded in death by three step-children, Betty Jean Perry, Charles R. Clements and Larry L. Clements; and one sister, Vera Faye (Lewis) Schimmel. Visitation will take place on October 31, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services are to be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with Military Rites will follow services at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana. Memorials may be directed in his memory to any charity of the donor’s choice.
