Marion E. Wilhoite

Mr. Marion Eugene Wilhoite, 86 years old, passed away on February 24, 2015, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born on July 18, 1928, in Boone County to the late Faye Edgar and Ruby Ellen (Miller) Wilhoite. A life-resident of Boone County, Marion graduated from Kirklin High School in 1948. Following high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy. On September 7, 1952, he was married to Elloise Dare (Abbitt) Wilhoite, in Boone County. Mrs. Wilhoite passed away on May 11, 2012. They had spent 59 loving years together. Marion worked as a repair technician for AT&T for 38 years. Following his retirement, he had spent some time working at the Big R Store in Lebanon and at the Sullivan Hardware Store in Brownsburg. Marion was a member of the Fairview Congregational Christian Church in Lebanon and a former member of the Elizaville Christian Church. He was active in the Boone County 4-H program and a leader of Boy Scouts while raising his sons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed the moments spent with his family. Survivors: Four Sons: Mark Wilhoite and wife, Karen – Oak Creek, Wisconsin Alan Wilhoite and wife, Marcia – Lebanon, Indiana Kevin Wilhoite and wife, Debbie – Zionsville, Indiana Tim Wilhoite and wife, Kelly – Brownsburg, Indiana Fourteen Grandchildren: John Wilhoite and wife, Becky James Wilhoite Joseph Wilhoite Courtney Leenders Adam Wilhoite Josh Giovanini Andrew Wilhoite and wife, Nikki Aaron Wilhoite and wife, Jessica Monica Wilhoite and fiancé, Adam Nagele Madeline Young and husband, Matt Jennifer Rider and husband, Kevin Kayla Wilhoite McKinzie Wilhoite Tyler Wilhoite Numerous Great Grandchildren Two Sisters: Betty Dowell and husband, Bob – Indianapolis, Indiana Bonnie Eberwein and husband, Leonard – Plainfield, Indiana Sister-in-law: Norma Wilhoite – Westfield, Indiana Several Nieces and Nephews Deceased: In addition to his parents and his wife, Marion was preceded in death by two brothers, John “Buddy” Wilhoite and James Wilhoite; a great grandson and a great granddaughter.
