Mary Evelyn Highland

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Highland, 86 passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born Whitestown, Indiana, on January 13, 1930 a daughter of the late Leroy and Otha (Allen) Shaw. She attended Whitestown High School. On January 28, 1947, she was married to Laurel Eugene “Gene” Highland in Lebanon. Mr. Highland passed away on May 1, 2014. Mary had worked for J & L Steel and then for 28 years, Gene owned and operated H & H Automotive Supply in Sheridan and Lebanon and she worked in the office as the bookkeeper. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Mary and Gene enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. She enjoyed needle work, cross stitch, puzzles and quilting in her spare time. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Visitation is planned for Friday, June 17, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
