Michael "Mike" Donley

Mike Donley, 64, passed away Wednesday, March 29 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on August 8, 1952, the son of the late James Earl Donley and Anna Marie (Crews) Hootman. A life-resident of Lebanon, Mike attended Lebanon High School and served for six years in the Indiana National Guard in the 39th Field Artillery in Lebanon. On September 29, 1972, he was married to Barb (Walters) Donley in Lebanon, Indiana; she survives. Mike began his working career at Lau Blower now known as ASC/Johnson Controls in Lebanon. He worked there for 44 years as a material handler. Well known as a practical joker Mike’s family and friends never knew what to expect from him. As both the instigator and the recipient of pranks, he was known for his humor and good nature in teasing his family and friends. Mike loved his family as a husband, father and grandfather. His grandsons provided a lot of entertainment and joy for him. He enjoyed Tennessee and regularly traveled to the area where he was thoroughly at home. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed supporting the Indiana University Basketball program, watching sports, playing softball and often refereed basketball. He was a longtime member and former employee of the Lebanon Boys and Girls Club where he refereed. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services are planned for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the funeral home in Lebanon, with Rev. Matthew Short, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana. Survivors: Wife: Barb Donley – Lebanon, Indiana Children: Rebecca Johnston and husband, Johnny – Lebanon, Indiana Melissa Schuermann and husband, David – Lebanon, Indiana Anna Donley – Bloomington, Indiana Grandchildren: Mikey Johnston Ben Johnston Jacob Johnston Sisters: Elizabeth Kays, and husband, Paul – Lebanon, Indiana Vicki Myers and husband, Jerry – Lebanon, Indiana Brothers: Robert Donley – Florida James Parker and wife, Janet – Lebanon, Indiana John Maxwell – Spencer, Indiana Aunt: Linda Louks – Lebanon, Indiana Several Nieces and Nephews Deceased: In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Phillippo and a sister-in-law, Karen Phillippo.
