Robert "Bob" Ranney

Robert Carroll “Bob” Ranney, 89, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home in Lebanon. He was born in Boone County, Indiana, on December 16, 1925, a son of the late Ralph and Ruby (Neese) Ranney. Bob was a 1945 graduate of Pinnell High School. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany as a Sergeant from 1945 – 1946. On August 5, 1951, he was married to Joan (Harris) Ranney in Lebanon. After 60 loving years together, she passed away on September 1, 2011. Following their marriage, Bob and Joan moved to Mesa, Arizona and for a period of time they lived in Chula Vista, California. Coming back to Indiana, they spent 30 years at Raccoon Lake and then in 1999, they moved back to Lebanon where he had since resided. He had worked for National Homes and for a number of years was the service manager for Miller Auto in Lebanon. Bob retired from NAPA Auto Parts in Rockville, Indiana, and following his retirement, he was a groundskeeper at Raccoon Lake Golf Course. Bob was dedicated to his family. He loved fishing, golfing and was a fan of all sports, especially the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed wood-working in his spare time. Memberships: New Brunswick Christian Church – Lebanon, Indiana Funeral Services are to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Darlene Brannon and Dawn Green, officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with military rites will follow services at Old Union Cemetery, rural Jamestown, Indiana.
