Susan (Moran) Van Markwyk

Mrs. Susan L. (Moran) Van Markwyk, 67, of Estero, Florida and formerly of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed away Monday evening, April 4, 2016. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 14, 1949, the only child of the late Francis Edward “Rudy” and Lucille (Lawler) Moran. She was married to Theo “Ted” Holt on December 16, 1972, in Lebanon, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1987. She was then married to G. “Dutch” Van Markwyk on July 12, 1997 in Brownsburg, Indiana; he survives. Raised in Boone County, Susan was a 1967 graduate of Lebanon High School. She then attended Indiana University where she received a Bachelors Degree. She was a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Indianapolis where she dedicated many years working as the church secretary. She was also a member of Tri Kappa Sorority in Brownsburg. While living in Estero, Florida, she volunteered many hours at the Estero United Methodist Church and also with New Horizons. She had a sweet and loving disposition and was always generous to others. Susan lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling. Visitation is planned for Friday, April 8, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Bethel United Methodist Church, 5252 West 52nd Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with Rev. Harold Leininger and Rev. Monty Barker, officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
