Bob Belles Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Robert (Bob) Burton Belles, 90, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Maple Park Village in Westfield. He was born July 1, 1929 in Maywood, Illinois, a son of the late Carl and Blanche Belles. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Oak Park High School. He attended Drake University in Iowa and then enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country honorably from January 1951 to October 1954. He then attended Indiana University where he graduated with a degree in marketing in 1956. On November 14, 1969, he was married to Carol Lynn (Marshall) Belles in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death on May 28, 2006. Bob worked in the insurance and investment industry. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Lebanon Elks. His true love was anything and everything in which his daughters and wife were involved. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather attending more musical and sporting events than you could count. He worked behind the scenes, supporting wife Carol with musicals and performances and was frequently seen singing, dancing, and performing on stage as well. Bob loved all sports and hometown teams, but golf was his passion. He was a fixture on local golf courses. He shared tips with anyone who would listen and worked as a golf pro during summers in Wisconsin. If you ever needed to hear an old tired joke, an earnest compliment, or a supportive word, Bob Belles was there for you. Survivors include: Three Daughters: Dawn E. (James) Sell of Carmel, Indiana Seven Grandchildren: Audra (Adam) Skelton of Summerville, South Carolina Jacob Wetzel of Huntington Beach, California Erin (Adrian) Heil of Bowling Green, Kentucky Maggie Johnson of Eagle, Colorado Ruby Sell of Carmel, Indiana Elliott Sell of Carmel, Indiana Spencer Sell of Carmel, Indiana Five Great Grandchildren: Adeline Wetzel Elouise Skelton Henry Skelton Carolyn Skelton Cory Heil Nieces and nephews: Bradley Belles, Bruce Heyl, Scott Heyl, Debbie Hofland, Geri Varner Due to the current health concerns for our community.
