Carolyn Y. Hinkle

February 11, 1941 - February 28, 2022

Carolyn Hinkle, 81, passed away at her home in Whitestown on Monday, February 28, 2022. She was born February 11, 1941, in Henderson, Kentucky; a daughter of the late Dorothy Marion (Green) Ligon and Allie Harrison Ligon, Sr. In 1969, she was married to Lonnie Hinkle, Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana; he survives. Carolyn was a member of Lebanon Rock Church. She was a homemaker who always welcomed family and friends through her door. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed attending all her grandkids sporting events and activities. Carolyn was a kindred spirit, who touched many lives and will be missed by a loving family and many friends. Survivors include her loving husband, Lonnie Hinkle, Sr. of Whitestown; children,Bruce (Cindy) Yeadon of Whitestown, Annie (Brad) Herron of Lebanon, Lonnie “Hink” (Kim) Hinkle, Jr. of Mooresville; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; brother, Scott (Ty) Ligon of Indianapolis; sisters, Kathy Pearson of Arkansas, Teresa Robinson of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Allie Harrison “Buddy” Ligon and one sister, Glenda Griffin. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in Lebanon Carolyn will be laid to rest following services at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
