George W. Moody

George W. Moody, 52, of Darlington, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was born on July 5, 1969; one of eight children to the late George L. and Verna E. (Orwin) Moody. He was a 1988 graduate of Western Boone Jr./Sr. High School. On August 31,1996, he married Rebecca (Timm) Moody; she survives. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fillmore, Indiana. George was employed with CSI in Crawfordsville where he worked his way up as a skilled mechanic. He enjoyed working in the yard, using his metal detector, woodworking, and fishing. George was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed having a large and loving family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Moody of Darlington; children, Ashley (Nick) Fortner of Lebanon, Bayli Moody of Crawfordsville, Joshua Moody of Darlington; grandchildren, Hudson Fortner, Jasper Mingay and Beau Moody; brothers, Max L. (Kim) Moody of Thorntown, Scott A. (Theresa) Moody of Vero Beach, Florida, Jim L. (Katrina) Moody of Lebanon; sisters, Dena M. (Joe) Tunnell of Lebanon, Brenda L. Wright of Thorntown, Jackie L. Schocke of Clermont; many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother, Robert George Moody and brother-in-law, Art Wright. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation is planned for Monday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home in Lebanon. He will be laid to rest following services at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana.
