Marylene Tyree Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Marylene “Ozzie” Tyree, 77, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 5, 2020 at her home in Thorntown, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 21, 1943 in Clarks Hill, Indiana, a daughter of the late Edward and Anna Loureide (Cooksey) Kinslow. On November 10, 1961, she was married to Carlos “Peanut” Tyree in Colfax, Indiana; he survives. Marylene and Carlos owned and operated the Thorntown Laundry & Dry Cleaning for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed family get-togethers, flower gardening, and sewing. Survivors include husband, Carlos “Peanut” Tyree of Thorntown; two children, Michael S. Tyree of Thorntown and Trisha Maye Cathey of Thorntown; four grandchildren, Danielle (Dustin) Anderson, Isaac Cathey, Morgan Maye Cathey, and Naomi Callis; two great grandchildren, Jace and Jaxon Anderson; brothers, William (Brenda) Kinslow, Eddie (Charlotte) Kinslow, and Earl (Alice) Kinslow; sisters, Ruby Ann Goins and Carol Kinslow; sister-in-law, Janet Kinslow; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marylene was preceded in death by a brother, Windell Kinslow, and brother-in-law, Larry Goins. Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Myers & Hunt Mortuary, 116 W. Plum Street, in Thorntown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the funeral home in Thorntown. Interment will follow services at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
