Richard "Dick" Neal Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Richard Eugene “Dick” Neal, 83, of Thorntown, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born February 11, 1939, in Tipton, Indiana, a son of the late Byron Clyde “Barney” and Mary Maurine (Fosnight) Neal. On June 1, 1958, he was married to Meredith Ann (Whittinghill) Neal in Advance, Indiana; she survives. Dick built farm fences as a young man. In addition, he was employed at Stewart Warner, Cones Brothers, and he retired from the Boone County Highway Department. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Dick enjoyed his family, farming and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Meredith A. Neal of Thorntown; three children, Phyllis (Andy) Blume of Thorntown, Jeff Neal of Lebanon, and Eugene (Alice) Neal of Lewistown, Montana; eight grandchildren, Aaron Neal, Adam (Alex) Neal, Jacob Neal, Jason (Shellie) Cline, Jonathon Neal, Samantha (Derek) Shaible, Cathy (fiancé, Dustin Thomas) Blume, and Mary (Brian) Marnocha; eight great grandchildren; brother, Robert E. (Diana) Neal of Crawfordsville; and sister, Juanita M. (Norman) New of Science Hill, Kentucky. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua M. Neal. Visitation is planned from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Graveside Services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
