Age: 92 Age: 92 WidowedCity of Residence: Lebanon, IndianaDate of Death: Friday, December 6, 2013, at 1:10 p.m.Place of Death: At her residence in Lebanon, Indiana Mrs. Miller was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on July 17, 1921, the daughter of the late John Clyde and Mary Gertrude (Ryan) Armstrong. A life-resident of Boone County, Indiana, with the exception of short stays in Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Fort Scott, Missour as she traveled with her Air Force husband. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1939. She attended Ball State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1943. On June 12, 1943, she was married to Carl Eugene “Gene” Miller in San Angelo, Texas while Mr. Miller attended training in the Air Force. Mr. Miller passed away on June 30, 2006. In 1960, Mrs. Miller began teaching first grade students at Thorntown Elementary School. She taught there for twenty-four years, retiring in 1984. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, reading, traveling, and playing bridge with family and friends.
