Charles W. Glass

Charles Willis Glass, 61, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at his home in Colfax, Indiana. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on October 23, 1957, one of ten children, to the late Charlie Roy Glass and Jean Ann (Bowman) Glass. He was married to Margaret June (Altum) Glass on July 12, 1981 in Colfax. She passed away on February 26, 2000. Charles was raised in Boone County and graduated from Western Boone High School in 1975. Following school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp. For a period of time, he worked for Devon Trucking and Carson Trucking. Most recently, Charles was employed at the Colfax Food Mart. He was a member of the Colfax Christian Church. He loved his daughters and grandchildren dearly. Charles will be missed by his many family members. Survivors include: Three Daughters: Kristi (fiancé, Dan Purdue) Glass of Colfax, Indiana Katie (fiancé, Vince Roberts) Glass of Frankfort, Indiana Kimberly Glass of Colfax, Indiana Six Grandchildren: Devin Purdue Theresa Neal-Glass Harmonie Gideon Skieler Lollar Damien Roberts Katelynn Roberts Three Brothers: David Lee (Robin) Glass – Lebanon, Indiana Donald Eugene “Butch” Glass – Thorntown, Indiana Roy Allen “Tate” Glass – Thorntown, Indiana Four Sisters: Debra Kay Belcher – Lebanon, Indiana Mary Clements – Thorntown, Indiana Dorothy Jean Gibson – Frankfort, Indiana Donna Kay Stewart – Thorntown, Indiana Brothers and Sisters–in– law: John and Cheryl Altum of Elkhart, Indiana Glen and Lisa Altum of Memphis, Missouri Chris Hays of Frankfort, Indiana Nelma Hays of Frankfort, Indiana Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Kay Glass, and a brother, Kevin Lee Glass. Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Myers & Hunt Mortuary, 116 West Plum Street, in Thorntown, Indiana. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home in Thorntown. Interment will be held at Plainview Cemetery in Colfax immediately following services. Memorials may be directed to Clinton County Special Olympics in Frankfort, Indiana.
