Edna Grace Frizzell

Edna Grace Frizzell, 96, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on April 7, 1920, in Boone County, Indiana to the late William Morton and Carrie (Wiley) Morton and was the middle of nine children. A longtime resident of Boone County, Edna was a 1938 graduate of Lebanon High School. On May 31, 1944, she was married to Harold Anthony Frizzell in Fresno, California. Mr. Frizzell passed away on November 23, 1978. Edna was first and foremost a homemaker. She had been a Church secretary and then worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield doing data entry. She eventually retired from BC/BS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family and the time she spent with them. She was a very giving person and cared for her husband, Harold, in his final years. She continue caring and giving to her children and grandchildren, serving as babysitter, taxi, and supporter of the many things they did. She loved her great grandchildren and always brightened when they were around her. Edna enjoyed cooking, doing needlework, and puzzles and games were a favorite pastime. She was spunky and fun loving. She loved watching the Indiana Pacers and listening to the Indianapolis Indians and attending the games. She has been a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Avon, Indiana for at least 57 years. Most important, Edna had a quiet strength that her family drew from and will be deeply missed by them and all who knew her. Funeral Services are planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016, 2016 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Mud Creek Cemetery in rural Lebanon. Survivors: Children: Alice Amt and husband, Robert – Indianapolis, Indiana Willard Frizzell and wife, Sandra – Avon, Indiana Son-in-law: David Socier - Pueblo, Colorado Grandchildren: Carrie Barnes and husband, Mark John Amt and wife, Randi Jessica Amt Angela Frizzell Anthony Frizzell Brent Frizzell Five Great Grandchildren: John, Jr., Rylee and Keldon Amt Sophie and Kenneth Barnes Sister: Lois Himes – Emporia, Kansas Brother: John Morton – Auburn, Indiana Numerous Nieces and Nephews Deceased: In addition to her parents and her husband, Edna was preceded in death by daughters, Judith Walters and Joyce Socier; sisters, Leah Teed, Esther Morton, Doris Bryan, Julia Curts, Mabel Murphy and a brother, Hugh Morton.
