She was the daughter of the late Emerson D. and Rosalyn (Hill) Pollitt. A long-time resident of Lebanon, Joyce graduated from Lebanon High School in 1949. She then attended Lain Business College in Indianapolis. On August 12, 1951, she was married to Carl Ivan Shockley in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mr. Shockley passed away on April 24, 1996. She began work for G.A. SAAS Advertising for a period of time and then worked for Boone County Hardware for more than 20 years. Joyce was also a co-owner of Rainélles Ceramics in Lebanon. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Joyce loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, RVing, traveling, and playing cards and games. Fred Tanselle, officiating.Visitation is planned for Friday, March 14, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
