Kathleen Honan

Kathleen Honan, 94, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born on May 26, 1922, in Rosston, Indiana, the only child of the late Lena Hamilton Kouns and Inez (McDonald) Kouns. Kathleen moved to Lebanon with her family as a small child. She was a 1939 graduate of Lebanon High School. She then attended Butler University and graduated in 1943 with a Physical Education degree. On, June 19, 1943, she was married to Dr. Paul R. Honan, Jr. at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Lebanon, Indiana. He survives. Kathleen was first and foremost a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was devoted to her family and the time she spent with them. She and high school girlfriends enjoyed playing bridge for many years in their own club, and in addition she enjoyed bridge with the ladies at Ulen Country Club. Kathleen was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority for many years, Delta Delta Delta Sorority while at Butler University and remained active as an alumnae member, and was with Cooking Club. She was a 70 year member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and several church circles and a current member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon. Funeral Services are planned for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana, with Dr. James Morin and Rev. Seth Neckers officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
