Age: 99 Never MarriedCity of Residence: Lebanon, IndianaDate of Death: Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at 7:57 p.m.Place of Death: At Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, IndianaMary Lyde Duff was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on April 18, 1913, the fourth child of the late William Forrest and Cora Thomas (Wood) Duff.She was reared on the family farm east of Lebanon and was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1930. A 1934 graduate of Purdue University, Mary was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority while in college. She also attended Central Business College in Indianapolis.During the depression, Mary worked for L.S. Ayres in Indianapolis in Personal Shopping Service. She later worked for Prudential Insurance as head of Auditing and Accounting in the Mortgage Loan office. She returned to Lebanon to help care for her aging parents and went to work for Commercial Filters as an accountant. She retired from there in 1978, after 28 years of employment.In retirement, Mary spent six months of the year in Florida and the other six months in Lebanon. She did this for eleven years before moving back to Lebanon full time. Although she never married, Mary was the family care giver. Her nieces and nephews considered her their favorite aunt and she was always the first stop-in on their return visits to Lebanon.Membership: First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon Officiating: Rev. Terri ThornFuneral Services are to be held on Monday, April 22, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Chapel in Oak Hill Cemetery, 935 East Washington Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Powell Chapel.Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.Myers Mortuary in entrusted with arrangements.Survivors: Nephews: Robert A.
