Pemberton, 97, of Lebanon, Indiana, died Saturday, January 12, 2013. He was born in Casey County, Kentucky on June 6, 1915, the son of the late Sam and Nannie Pemberton.Mr. Pemberton attended schools in Casey County, Kentucky. Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably. In 1932, he moved to Indiana. He lived in Indianapolis and Zionsville prior to moving to Lebanon where he has resided for the past twenty years.On October 17, 1975, in Zionsville, Indiana, he was married to Jane (Dinsmore) Pemberton. After thirty-seven years of marriage, Mrs. Pemberton survives.For many years, Murl worked at J & L Steel in Indianapolis, retiring in January 1978.He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed wood working, playing cards and Yahtzee and he loved watching his wife while she was gardening.Funeral Services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, with Pastor Matt Skiles, officiating.Visitation is planned for Thursday, January 17, 2013, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home in Lebanon.Interment with military rites will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.Survivors:Wife: Mrs. Jane Pemberton – Lebanon, IndianaDaughter-In-Law: Mrs. Wanda (Pemberton) Hoogeveen Four Grandchildren: Tammie Pemberton and companion, Suzanne Thompson James Pemberton, Jr. and companion, Roxanne Erik Boswell and wife, Kathy Lisa BoswellThree Great Grandchildren: Elijah Pemberton Jason Boswell Julianna BoswellThree Sisters-In-Law: Mrs. Joanna Hunter and husband, Richard Mrs. Martha Scott Mrs. Helen Dinsmore Several Nieces and NephewsDeceased: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Pemberton, Brodus Pemberton and Stanley Pemberton; a son, James L.
