Age: 69 Married City of Residence: Kirklin, Indiana Date of Death: Monday, February 2, 2015Place of Death: at IU North Hospital in Carmel, Indiana Mr. Otis Eugene Carpenter was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on February 24, 1945, a son of Margaret (Simpson) Carpenter and the late Buck Carpenter. Otis was raised in Kentucky and attended school there. Following school, Otis enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country honorably. On January 17, 1971, he was married to June P. (Butterbredt) Carpenter in Las Vegas; she survives. Otis was a member of Teamster Local 135 and had worked as a mechanic for Ryder Truck Rental in Indianapolis. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather he loved his spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.Visitation is planned for Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the funeral home in Lebanon.Interment with military rites will follow services at Scotland Cemetery in Kirklin, Indiana.
