Ronald F. "Ron" Walker

Mr. Ronald F. “Ron” Walker, 71, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born on May 28, 1944 in Lebanon, Indiana, a son of Janice (Byrkett) Walker and the late Gordon Keith “Kay” Walker. He graduated from Whitestown High School in 1962. Ron served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 – 1967. On August 30, 1969, he was married to Vicki L. (Bogan) Walker in Lebanon; she survives. Ron worked for Amoco Standard Oil for 30 years as a semi driver and pipeline operator. He retired in 1995 and began driving a semi for himself. He loved to drive his semi and travel. He was a member of the Whitestown American Legion Post 410 for 52 years. He served as an officer and dedicated himself for the betterment of the post and its community. In addition, he was a life member of the Lebanon VFW. Ron will always be remembered as laughing first and loudest at his one-liner jokes and his love and generosity for his family and friends. Visitation is planned for Friday, April 15, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with military rites beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, 319 East South Street, in Lebanon, on Saturday, April 16 2016 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Walker and wife, Sue – Lebanon, Indiana Robert Walker and wife, Paula – Lebanon, Indiana Sister: Di Gaines and husband, Greg – Brownsburg, Indiana Brothers-in-law: Tom Bogan and wife, Penny – Lebanon, Indiana Don Bogan and wife, Peg – Lebanon, Indiana Sister-in-law: Becky Bogan – Lebanon, Indiana Several Nieces and Nephews Deceased: In addition to his father, Ron was preceded in death by an infant son Bryce Walker; brother-in-law, Rick Bogan; and a nephew, Brian Walker.
