Edwards was born in Davies County, Indiana, on May 30, 1932, the son of the late John S. and Mona Shilo (Rodgers) Edwards. He was a 1949 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. Following school, Royenlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1950 to 1952. He moved to Lebanon,Indiana in 1960 and had resided there since. On June 16, 1956, he was married to Mary K. (Reed) Edwards in Indianapolis. Mrs. Edwards survives. Roy was employed for several years for Ross Poultry and then Perdue Farms in the Thorntown area, retiring in July 2006. He was a member of First Community Church in Lebanon and had served in various capacities as the Sunday school Superintendent, Bus Driver and Head Usher. For a period of time, he was active with the youth group. A devoted family man, Roy loved the time spent with family and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping and travelling, having travelled to Egypt and Israel and many of the states in the USA. In addition, he enjoyed gardening and helping out his neighbors from time to time.Funeral Services are planned for Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana with Rev. (PENDING), officiating.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home inLebanon.Entombment with military rites will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Boone County, Indiana.Survivors: Wife: Mrs. Mary K.
