William Kersey

William Kersey, 83, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana on April 30, 1933, a son of the late Clyde L. and Ruth Anna (Fosnight) Kersey. He was reared and educated in Lebanon, graduating from Lebanon High School in 1951. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor during the Korean War. Mr. Kersey received two Purple Hearts during his tour of duty. In Lebanon, he was married on June 18, 1955, to Shirley (Shanklin) Kersey, they celebrated 50 years together. Shirley passed away on January 17, 2006. William was employed at Shumate Business Form in Lebanon for over 40 years as a rotary press operator. He was a loving father and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. William liked wintering in Florida, going to casinos, and watching NASCAR races. Memberships: American Legion – Lebanon, Indiana VFW – Lebanon, Indiana Eagles Lodge – Lebanon, Indiana Amvets – Pinellas Park, Florida Funeral Services are to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with Military Rites will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
